DSLR UNDERWATER PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP - BICHENO - Nov 13-15, 2015

Presented by Gary Bell - Award winning underwater photographer with 40 years of experience behind the camera.

THE PRESENTER : Gary Bell is one of Australia’s most accomplished professional underwater photographers with International acclaim. His images have featured in major magazines and books around the world, limited edition coins, postage stamps, newspapers, advertisements, signage and many other publications. Gary’s latest coffee table book, The Great Barrier Reef - A World Heritage National Park, contains more than 250 vibrant portraits of the Great Barrier Reef.

Gary has worked on assignment for National Geographic magazine and Television Division, Australia's CSIRO Division of Fisheries, Australian Geographic magazine, Travelling in Australia magazine and other nature related journals. He is the founder and Manager of OceanwideImages.com – a leading Stock Photo Agency specializing in natural history photography. He has also judged several National and International photography competitions.

WHO IS THIS WORKSHOP FOR : Anyone having a love for nature and the underwater world with a passion for photography, be it amateur or professional DSLR camera user, or point and shoot camera user. All will benefit from this workshop.

THE WORKSHOP : In conjunction with Bicheno Dive Centre, situated in Bicheno on Tasmania’s north-eastern granite coast, Gary Bell will be hosting a 2 day/3 evening digital DSLR underwater photography workshop and sharing his 40 years of knowledge and experience in photography to bring your underwater photography skills to a whole new level.

WHEN : Weekend of November 13-15. The workshop will commence Friday early evening, November 13, in the lecture room with a PowerPoint lecture and presentation. Saturday morning will kick off at 8.00am, again in the lecture room with a PowerPoint lecture and presentation (coffee/tea will be provided during the lecture), followed by a morning and afternoon practical field boat dive within the Governor Island Marine Reserve - famous for abundant marine life and friendly fish - where participants will practice their new underwater photography skills. A second meeting in the lecture room on Saturday will take place during late afternoon that will include a photo viewing session to discuss the results from the days diving.

Sunday will be a repeat of Saturday – morning lecture, two practical field boat dives in the Governor Island Marine Reserve, followed by a viewing session in the late afternoon.

TO MAKE A BOOKING: Anyone interested in taking part in this once in a lifetime opportunity, please contact Bruce Priestley at Bicheno Dive Centre (03) 6375 1138 to secure your booking with a $100 deposit. Final payment for the workshop is due 7 days prior to the commencement date.

COST FOR WORKSHOP: The total cost for the Workshop is $595 only – includes all lectures and 4 boat dives.

WHAT DO I BRING: Participants are required to bring their own underwater photography equipment as this is not supplied. Diving equipment is also not supplied, so please bring this to the workshop also. Limited diving equipment will be available for hire from Bicheno Dive Centre during the workshop, but anyone needing to hire diving equipment must advise the Dive Centre when making a booking. Please bring a note pad and pen to the lecture room for jotting down notes.

Accommodation is not provided, but can be arranged through Bicheno Dive Centre should this be required. Or you may like to book your own accommodation as Bicheno has a wide range of accommodation to suit every budget.
